Figure File Paths

As far as I can tell, there is no way to query a figure's file-path once it has been placed in a non-layout window.
Layouts have the drawing manager to track file-paths, so provide a similar interface for non-layout windows, OR a universal interface to track all externally-placed objects (with tabs if necessary for layouts, plans, section/elevation etc)

As far as I know it becomes part of the drawing and does not reference a file path when placed in this manner. Although this adds to file size, I personally prefer this for certain things. If you want a linked image place the image using File/external content/place external drawing. Now you have a path...

Mike's right. Once a Figure is placed, it's embedded in your file and no longer references an outside file.... hence the lack of a path.
