Grouping in 3d

Grouping of objects in 3d views would be usesful, or can this be done already?

If not maybe an Archicad 9/10 feature?

I, for one, am all for it. It would be nice to be able to group elements in the 3D window.

There is a reason for this : ArchiCAD won't group objects in 3D because they might be placed on different storeys, and you can't group elements placed in different plan levels.

Yes you are right, but it would still be nice if you could do it on a by story basis. E.G. by using the marquee (thin line) you only get the existing story displayed in 3D, you could then group elements on this story only.

It also seems inconsistent that you see existing groupings in 3D and can suspend grouping ... but cannot ungroup right now (8.1R2).
