I nearly got caught out up cycling one of my projects which would have quite happily published several layouts with links to missing drawings. Whilst I appreciate there may be a requirement to keep broken links intact, there should at least be a warning in the Navigator Layout Book list that a Layout contains a broken or missing link.
In my case the offending layouts were referencing internal Sections which had been deleted and replaced by Sections with the same name. The creation of a new internal Section with the same name does not automatically restore a broken link. Currently the only way to check these things is to go through the drawing manager, but under pressure this process could be skipped if there is no obvious warning.
