I wish menus opened to the limits of the monitor

See attached image.

I don't recall other versions of ArchiCAD doing this, but in ArchiCAD 20 the menu's don't go all the way to the edge of the monitor. They instead have a tiny black triangle that you have to click on in order to scroll down to the bottom of the menu lists. This is pretty annoying simply because it slows down the use of the menu and it seems unnecessary.

If there is a fix to this I would love to hear it, otherwise I guess this is a "wish."

I wonder if this is happening because I run multiple monitors and they are not all the same resolution? Maybe the drop down somehow defaults to the lowest resolution monitor? Just a guess. I have no idea how these programs are written.

Could well be.
I have 2 monitors but both the same resolution.
Are you running Windows 7 or 10?
Your earlier image looks more like 10 - not that that should make a difference.

I just moved to Win 10 and I have the same issue with the drop down menus not opening completely and having an arrow at the bottom to allow selection of other commands. I also noted that when you click on the bottom arrow a second arrow appears at the top so the user can see the upper commands. I did not have this issue when I was using Win 7. I am sure this is a windows issue similar to the "font" size issue that Graphisoft is currently working on. I hope they a working on this issue as well.
