Stair text

Is there a way I can show stairs with stair text on at 1/4" scale, but no text at site plan scale, for instance 1'=10'.

Workaround:
Dedicate a unique pen for stair text.

Create two pen sets.
One with the stair text pen set to black and the other set to white.

Apply the pen sets to the appropriate layout.

Awkward. Seems like there would be a setting similar to "simple, detailed" settings in the MVO. Or include it in that dialogue box.

Agreed.
You could also copy and paste a second instance of the stair and use different layers/layer groups for different layout scales.
