Teamwork requests - pop-up/alert in OS/external applications

Often we have a problem in our studio where the person receiving a Teamwork reservation request is busy using another application (such as typing an email, browsing internet etc..) and doesn't see the ArchiCAD-only pop-up.
Is there a way to get a pop-up to appear at the OS level (in the same way as Skype gives notifications)?
Ideally it should require the user to respond before they are able to continue working on whatever they are doing, but I can see how some would find that annoying. Not as annoying as having to call out to your workmates every so often "HEY! did you get my request??"
