The ‘Archicad in Your Pocket’ challenge results are in!

Dear Community Members,

Drumroll please! 🥁

The time has come to announce the final selected works from 2024’s final Community challenge! Archicad in Your Pocket was an invitation to showcase efficient uses of Archicad features in a self-produced short video. In addition to sharing their knowledge and helping thousands of Archicad users with pro tips, participants were in the running to win amazing prizes, including $300 Graphisoft Learn gift cards and an Apple iPad Pro!

The evaluation method set the bar quite high, and the creative submissions we received impressed us by achieving in all categories. Our jurypanel selected the best works based on an aggregated score of each of the following criteria:

  • Creativity: The tip shows innovation and originality by showcasing an inventive technique that goes beyond traditional methods and pushes boundaries.
  • Reach: The tip is useful for a wide range of users and addresses recurring issues.
  • Clarity: The tip is explained and structured well, especially for beginners; clear instructions simplify understanding and accessibility.

Curious what features our fellow Community members came up with? Without further ado, feast your eyes on these incredible productions!

This tip adds a lot of value to users looking to deepen their knowledge and refine their skills. Although the content might be more niche and geared towards advanced users, it could be a fantastic addition to a longer, more in-depth training material for interior design, for example. Overall, high technical quality, and the content can be made even more impactful as part of a more extensive training series.

Simple and to the point, very relevant since it talks about Physically Based Rendering. Not only does this tip show the potential of the new Archicad feature, but it also teaches users how to access it more easily. The video goes into more complex concepts such as the work environment while also staying understandable and easy to follow the whole time.

This video is efficient in bringing awareness to roof editing capabilities, which can be unknown to some of our users, especially beginners. Very straight forward video and useful tip!

The idea to recreate in Archicad some real-life designs is always great, and it's clear what we are doing from the beginning of the video. Additionally, custom panels are a popular topic, but not everyone knows how to create them in Archicad. Relevant and useful content!

Challenge Champions – @CosminF and @nbeyner!

Yes, that’s correct. We have not one, but two champions of this challenge!

These individual tips from @CosminF and @nbeyner scored the highest, but honestly the entire video collection they each submitted was great! For that reason, we will highlight the best submission from each, but link the other shorts underneath in the expandable menu.

Great tip! Modifiers are extremely powerful, and not many users know how to use them. Cosmin’s video makes it simple to understand and breaks the workflow down into small steps.

I love how this video shows off the amazing potential of the standard Archicad library, which is available to everyone right from the start! It’s easy to underestimate just how flexible and versatile it can be, especially since creating custom elements in other BIM software can sometimes be a real headache. This video offers some valuable insights that can truly empower even mid-level users and make their experience a lot more enjoyable.
