We are glad to announce the launch of GDL Center, the new GDL knowledge base and community site for GDL developers.

The goal of this site is to have all of GRAPHISOFT’s GDL-related content in one place: official GDL documentation, learning materials, tips & tricks for developers, and a forum. The site is intended for developers, not general users.

The site includes three main topics: official GDL documentation, learning materials for beginners and tips & tricks for advanced developers.

In the Docs section, you'll find the GDL reference guide as well as other documentation.

In the Learning section there are many topics for beginners: If you are interested in learning GDL scripting, watch the lectures in the given order.

If you're an advanced user, take a look at the Tips & Tricks section: you'll find answers to frequently asked questions about GDL.

We have also created a Forum for discussing other topics.

All the articles are public and anyone can read them without registration, but you do need to sign in with your GSID to leave comments to posts or to use the forum.

Warum werden solche Seiten eigentlich nur in Englisch angeboten? Ich habe manchmal den Eindruck, dass man CAD-Verantwortlicher oder ArchiCAD- bzw. GDL-"Experte ohne fundierte Englischkenntnisse kaum Hilfe bekommt 😞 Mein Schulenglisch reicht jedenfalls bei Weitem nicht aus, um solche Anleitungen zu verstehen. Es kann doch nicht so schwierig und teuer sein den Text in die wichtigsten paar Sprachen übersetzten zu lassen... ❔

Und bitte viel mehr Beispiele, wen man es denn vernünftig anwenden könnte - oder zumendest Hinweise, in welchem Element der Bibliothek sowas vorkommt - auch im GDL-Handbuch.

Leider wurde das GDL-Cookbook vom David Nicolson Cole nicht mehr so aktuell weitergeführt. Es gibt zwar eine Googlebook-Version 3.99 davon - aber nur in Englisch - und auch diese nicht so tief in den neuen Versionenen von Archicad. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pzYnhHXr9DEHjTo1YBw-wS_r7bUWMzhrWP5md-tUAds/preview?pli=1

Bei den normalen Elementen der Standardbibliothek wie Fenstern wird man von Graphisoft regelrecht "ausgeschlossen", weil die durch die Aufrufe von Unterfunktionen nahezu nicht mehr nachvollziehbar sind. Hier wäre eine durchgängige deutsche Doku längst überfällig.

Ja, sehe das auch so mit dem Englisch, das sollte auf jeden Fall mal beachtet werden, beim IFC kann ich auch die Sprache einstellen, warum kann man das nicht auch beim GDL machen. GS hat ja auch etwas davon, wenn sich mehr Interessierte User dem Thema annehmen und GDL programmieren können.
