3d Google Warehouse

Hello,

I am trying to figure out a work around, so that I can publish my project, created on a Mac platform, to Google Earth. As most of you know, the Google Earch Connections application is not available for the Mac.

Graphisoft has informed us that this is an Apple issue. They do not provide enough public input on the the Google 3d warehouse runs.

Does anyone know about this issue, and when or if Apple will support the Google Earth 3d warehouse in the future?

Is there another way for me to publish a project? Export to IFC then use a third party software?

Best,

Travis Young

Do what i did: Get a friend with a PC.

If you had published your hardware and specs as is protocol here when posting a question, I would know if you had an IntelMac where a relatively minor piece of software [Parallels or VMWare Fusion] can provide a Windows desktop/interface from which i think you might send models to Google.

Hello Dwight,

I am on a PPC Mac. 2.3 Ghz, Dual processor G5, w/ OS 10.4.11,
and I am running Archicad 11.

Sorry about the protocol flub.

Thanks for the answer. Essentially I will have to move the file to my friends PC, download the Google Connection application, and post from there, correct?

I was just hoping there was something I could do from my machine.

Best,

You could install Virtual PC on the PPC machine to install Windows. It will not be fast, but might work out.

I have had AutoCAD 2005 on my Powerbook, one time. It was slow as hell, but the PB specs are not that impressive. I assume that a dual G5 might be more capable for this.
