Of course QTVR is still just preset image files cleverly stitched to give the impression of navigating a 3D world (kind of like the original Myst).

Perhaps the better comparison are games like World of Warcraft and Runescape (I have a 12 year old son) or Second Life and such. These allow wandering about a 3D world that loads as you go, but the graphics and models are limited.

It will be interesting to see what comes of this O3D.

Watching a sequential movie is totally different than navigating a 3D model - which requires the entire model to be downloaded
Well actualy this is not needed, the server could do the navigating, and just send the resulting images to the client (you or me)

Hey I got my 3D's to be viewable in a web browser with real time 3D. As there was no solution for Mac users for a virtual building explorer I did a little digging. Now not only can my clients walk through their buildings, but I can also post them up on the web.
