Exporting to DWG: Fills with Background colors

David Collins
Advocate
When exporting to DWG format I select “Export fill backgrounds as additional solid hatches” in the DFX-DWG translator. I can see the result in the DWG TrueView viewer and it looks fine.

But I’ve never had to work in Autocad. What actually happens in the DWG when I do this? Do walls have two hatches associated with them? Is this a pain for consultants to work with? Should I take pity on the poor guys and set all my fill backgrounds to transparent?

Hi David,

Than you for the question!

I rarely have to work with AutoCAD but we have detailed this in the User Manual of Archicad: https://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/user-guide/129038/

Maybe someone who frequently works with DWG can share their experience about this?

Best regards,
Minh
