Importing .3ds file from Solidworks to ArchiCAD 13

I'm new to this programme, and have got a .3ds model i want to import in archicad. Help anyone?

Do I have to convert the file to dwg? If so how?

Asked almost weekly. The search engine here cannot find anything with only 3 characters (3ds), so use this Google one:
