Text output problem in version 12

Has anyone noticed any problems with the text output from version 12?

I have my doors and windows output some info to a text file in a tab delimited format that I then open in Microsoft Excel.
Version 12 still creates the files OK and can even read the info back into Archicad fine.
But when I double click the file to open it in Excel it loses all of the tab formatting and is just a jumbled mess (using Excel 2003 or 2007).
The only way I can open it successfully is to open the file from within Excel itself and then a text import dialogue appears asking how the file is delimited (tabs) and the file origin which has something to do with it's encoding.
The same happens if I try to open the file in Word - it prompts for the correct text encoding (which seems to be - Unicode (UTF-8) ).

Two sample files are attatched in the zip file if anyone wants to try to open them.

I can't find any settings that will change how the text files are saved and there is nothing wrong with the GDL scripting that I can see either.

I just want to find out if others are having a problem before I report it to Graphisoft.

It seems that there is something different in both Archicad and Excel.

Version 12 files won't open properly in Excel 2003 or 2007 but other earlier Archicad version files open fine which suggests something has happened in 12.
But a version 12 file will open in Excel 2002 which suggests something has changed in Excel as well.

It is something to do with the encoding.
There is nothing in Archicad that I can find to change so i will start to look at Excel to see if there is some setting that can be changed there.
