Trimble Connect FYI - (try this before you spend money for navisworks or solibri)

This is an FYI for Trimble Connect.

Trimble Connect is a low cost cloud host simple type of navisworks/solibri environment.

With Trimble connect you can connect IFC, 3d dwg, skp files from many sources for viewing.

If you load up the IFC files with data in Archicad then all trimble connect users have access to the data in trimble connect. It has great 3d section trimming abilities to help you zoom into a problem area. When you first open trimble connect it looks like a toy, but it is actually a real power house. The model navigation response time is amazing which makes it the perfect platform for discussing issues during zoom meetings. Trimble Connect also makes a decent flat cad and 3D model storage/distribution platform and it will track document versions as well as track document releases. It is not a platform for editing or viewing pdfs!

Agree that Trimble connect can totally replace navisworks. However, its BCF import doesn’t work. I’ve posted the issue in  both Trimble and Solibri forums.

Solibri is another breed of software. There is no other comparable software in the market.
