CutePDF works fine, although I still tend to use the Amyuni PDF printer that was supplied with AC10 more often as it give better control of the image compression (and therefore the file size).
I presume you are not using Word 2007, as this comes with it's own built-in PDF creator. Just File>Save-as and select PDF/XPS.
