Assigning fills to objects so they show up both in elevation & floor plan?

Hi! We created some custom fills. I am adding them manually in interior elevations, but ... I thought I created them so I can assign them to objects & then they show up on the elevations but it does not seem to be true? I mean like walls, slabs, etc.. Yes I know that "surfaces" can be assigned to objects but it's not exactly what I am looking for as I care just for the elevations & floor plan.

Thank you!

It should work fine.

Assign a fill to your surface material and then use that surface in the object.

Make sure in the elevation settings the 'Surface - Cover Fill Foreground' is turned on for 'Uncut Elements'.
