The success story we’re sharing with you today highlights how Archicad supported the collaboration between ASTOC ARCHITECTS AND PLANNERS, GWJ Architektur, and IAAG Architekten in designing the Anna Seiler House, Inselspital main building, Bern University Hospital, Switzerland. It is a unique demonstration of how a trio of firms skillfully leveraged their expertise with advanced BIM tools to design a state-of-the-art hospital that meets modern healthcare needs and sustainability standards.
BIM tools, such as Archicad, BIMcloud, Solibri, and BIMx, were key to creating a patient-centric hospital with a sustainable focus that will adapt to medical advancements and patient care needs over time. Archicad supports the use of sustainable materials and energy-efficient design, contributing to the building's Minergie-P ECO certification. Natural light through walkways, windows, and skylights provides a pleasant atmosphere.
The Anna Seiler House project required a BIM database with nearly one million model elements and delivered 18 million data points to the client. Even with all of that information, the firms maintained accurate collaboration and coordination while managing the project, working with 25 disciplines, 250 designers, and 200 IFC models.
Discover how the use of BIM data made it possible to enable facility management and monitor comprehensive long-term building operations, with all operational components assigned unique IDs for facilities management.
