ARCHICAD can only be installed under the Applications directory on macOS 10.15 Catalina

Archicad can run reliably only if installed under the (/Applications/) directory. When you attempt to choose a different directory to install Archicad on and click Next, a Warning message appears informing you that Archicad 23 must be installed under the (/Applications/) folder.

NOTE: It is still possible to install multiple instances of Archicad. The only requirement is for the installation to be located under the (/Applications/) directory.

This is due to the security and privacy changes in macOS 10.15 Catalina. With the separation of System Files and User Files, and the restriction on applications accessing the System Files, Archicad can only run reliably if located under the Applications folder.

If Archicad is not in that specific directory, you might experience some issues, so we advice against relocating it.
