Archicad 25 optimizing for Mac

I recognise, that 2D Work with Mac is very fast, due to Metal from Apple.
But I think, the 3D Work with OpenGL is little bit slow.
Is there any suggestion for better work with Mac for Archicad 25?
Sorry for bad english.

Hello,

Thank you for your question!

It very much depends on the model complexity, library objects' detailed level and other factors. Based on this, it is possible that 16GB of RAM is not enough. Also, the CPU calculation power is also very important (I should have used "resources" rather than "memory").

Best regards,

Minh

Yes I understand - I guess the new M1 chips from Apple will help - do you have any feedback on how AC25 runs on the M1?

Hello,

We haven't done any official test with Archicad 25 on M1 chip, but we expect a similar result between Archicad 24 and 25. Of course, in some specific cases like in this one, it could be slower than Archicad 24. When we carried out the test for Archicad 24 and M1, we concluded that the M1 can only handle small to medium projects. We expect that the new chip coming from Apple later this year would provide more headroom for bigger size projects.

Best regards,

Minh

I’m running 8-cores with 32GB RAM and that wasn’t enough for shadows!
