macOS 27 Golden Gate

Apple has released macOS 27 Golden Gate as a developer beta, starting on June 8, 2026, and as a public beta, available since mid‑July 2026. We are thoroughly testing it to ensure compatibility with our products. Based on our current tests, Archicad operates with the issues listed below.

We are currently aware of a stability issue that can cause Archicad to crash when starting a new project.

We will update this article with the latest news while testing macOS 27 Golden Gate.

We currently do not recommend upgrading your primary Mac to macOS 27 Golden Gate.

Known issues

Archicad 30

Archicad may crash when starting a new project from the Starter

Issue

When clicking New in the Starter, Archicad may crash on macOS 27 Golden Gate. In our tests this occurs intermittently: in some cases Archicad starts as expected, in others it crashes. After a system restart, Archicad usually runs again.

Workaround

Restart the macOS system before launching Archicad if you encounter the crash. If Archicad continues to crash, avoid using the Starter and open an existing project file instead.

Solution

The issue is still under investigation. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.

Color picker does not behave as expected

Issue

On macOS 27 Golden Gate, the color picker shows minor visual or functional inconsistencies when used from Archicad.

Workaround

Use predefined pen sets and surfaces where possible, and avoid frequent changes via the color picker if you notice unexpected behavior.

Solution

We are working on a fix that is planned to be included in the Archicad 30 RC build. We will update this article when the fix is available.

Archicad 29 and earlier Versions

Compatibility testing for Archicad 29 and earlier Versions on macOS 27 Golden Gate is still in progress. At this stage we cannot provide a definitive compatibility statement.

BIMcloud

While we are still in the active phase of testing BIMcloud and we are not aware of any critical issues so far.

Please note that there is a new security feature (introduced on Sequoia) that blocks network searching. Make sure to authorize Archicad on the local network to access BIMcloud from Archicad.

How to authorize:

Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network and enable this setting for all Archicad versions.

BIMx

We are not aware of any issues in BIMx Desktop.
