custom garage door direction

I've modeled a custom garage door panel, saved it and inserted it with nor problems, except that the exterior side, which was facing up when I modeled it is coming in as the interior side of the door. Is that correct behavior and if so, do I need to try and "flip" the door and save it again or is there a another way to get the right side facing out?

Yes, the bottom side of the slab is the exterior face.
