importing gdl object - lost materials

heya ive saved some objects such as sofas off of a website.
i then import them into my model but the materials have gone
they are just silver

what am i doin wrong
please help

I assume it is an Archibase model? Have a look at this thread -

so if it takes ages to assign each material, do you have any links to ones that dont
