AC16 C.P. bug?

Anonymous
Not applicable
Don't remember this happening before.
I set up a fill to not have a "Solid Line" around the Fill within my C.P. but when either I hit the Store Profile or store the C.P. and then reopen, the exterior bounding line ("Solid-Line") is back on.
Is this a bug or am I just not remembering correctly?

Fills in Complex Profiles always have borders. If you want no border, the closest you can get is a dotted line with the dots as far apart as possible and the boarder pen set to a zero thickness white. That'll get you pretty damn close.

You are correct - I checked it in both version 16 and version 12.
If you do this to a fill in the floor plan the contour pen settings just grey out but remain the same.
In the profile manager the pen resets to pen "1" and the colour becomes "?".
I'd vote it is a bug.

I can understand that because you are creating a solid 3D wall you should really have a pen in cross-section around the fill.
The wierd thing is the very first time I saved the profile with no contour pen it worked and in section the wall had no line in section.
But try as I might now I can't repeat this.

A thin white pen might be as good as a wide dotted line as that shouldn't print if the pen colur remains white in your printing pen set.

Yeah, I know a lot of people who use the thin white line for all sorts of hidden lines and masking issues. But I just don't trust it. I'd hate to see what lines crossing my fills or a white line accidentally changing to a different color because of a pen set. white pen and dots just feel safer...
