Help With Complex Profiles

Anonymous
Not applicable
I am trying to make a hollow rectangular pipe with slightly curved edges. I have drawn the section in the complex profile editor, but I am having some issues with the fill tool. Archicad is not recognizing the fact that i would like the inside of the shape to be empty. I fill one shape and the next concentric shape, but i cannot figure out to erase the part in the middle. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks- Court

The hole shouldntt be a fill. it should be a hole in the fill.

See the reference guide about cutting holes in things:

page 215 for slabs: then infer for fills

Holy profile,Batman!
Right after digging into the reference manual
I would probably do it this way.

This method does not work for me for some reason. When I follow the previous steps exactly i the outside portion gets deleted and the interior remains unaltered. I have tried reversing the order, but i get the same message: region not found. Any other suggestions?

Then you either didn't understand or didn't follow the steps exactly.

Look at the attached carefully:
1 the fill icon it dark meaning its selected,
2. the magic wand is dark > selected
3. and the outside shape has handles indicating it is selected.

ALL of the conditions must be met, before you select the inside line with the wand. If you do it at a corner the wand will turn black indicating you are on it. Click, nothing appear to have happened, then select and delete the inside fill, vola! Practice it in the regular floor plan window cause you can copy and paste into the profile window anyway.
