Why does this tool not work like the standard section/elevation tool and create elevations of the interior rooms that can then be edited and updated?

Any tips on how to properly and effectively use this tool?

Don't -- I recommend using Tom Waltz's object/procedure: this is one link, or upgrade to AC11!
