!Restored: Upgrade Pricing form AC 11 To 12 around the world.

Hi, I would be interested in the Prices Graphisoft are charging around the world for normal upgrades from AC 11 to 12 and the subscription price as well.

I have seen the USA prices lately where you had a special of 595 US from the normal 895 US, lucky you's, that was subscription right? How much is just normal upgrade? (I tried to get one but of course they wouldn't play ball)

Here in NZ the normal upgrade is 1336 US and the subscription 1275 US.

Also I see some high profile users here in NZ use the International version. How does that work? How much are you paying? and if it is cheaper than the NZ version upgrade, where can I get one?

Perhaps someone can let me know why we are paying so much more from the same company, for the same software. It's only a DVD and manual, and as someone else mentioned it could be just a download.

Yes, but we get (most of) the Cadimage tools "free"

Yes Stuart, but the main ones aren't. Yet another added cost to the upgrade.

Aus prices in US dollars.

Upgrade is between US$1242 to US$1338 (when i rang before 12 was released and they would not confirm a figure).

Subscription US$1056 (approx - again needs confirming now 12 is released).

License transer fee US$946 - yes you read it right - a massive US$471 more than the cost in the US.
How Graphisoft Australia can justify such a price difference for license transfer i don't know, but it is one of the many reasons why i have not yet been able to buy a license. A grand just to have the dongle number registered to my name!.

So the AUS prices are similar to the NZ prices.
I too was interested to see the US prices.
I also note we have not yet been offered the ArchiCAD Start Edition?.

that's if you buy one second-hand though, right? if you bought a current, new license direct from your local reseller you surely don't have to pay to 'transfer' anything . . .

supply, and indeed, demand.

the same reason every other commodity in this country is so damn expensive compared to elsewhere . . .

Yes I did, thought that might be the case. So what did you pay for your upgrade? Do Beta Testers get a decent discount?
