having a major issue
we had some issue with an interior elevation.... so we deleted the drawing..
on the plan under the project map, the actual marker does not exist.... so far... so good
HOWEVER, when printing the fixture plan from the layout book, the old marker [linked to the now deleted interior elevation] reappears in its original location.
Relinking the file, changing the file name, and restarting the computer has not alleviated the problem.
drawings need to go out today WITHOUT the problematic marker showing up
any help/ advice/ tips/ tricks would be greatly appreciated
thanks

Did you try to delete the marker itself?
For a quick and dirty solution (to get the drawings out) turn off the layer on which the marker was placed (assuming that doesn't hide stuff you want).

Then try turning off the marker's layer. If you have other elements on that layer you want to print, then move them to another layer. If that doesn't work then try deleting the layer (working on a COPY of the file just in case).

changed the layer of all the markers to a newly created layer, deleted the prior layer and updated the layer combinations on the fixture plan to show the new layer.
click on the layout book, the marker appeared again, in the same place.
also tried shifting the entire plan and seeing if that would solve anything, but the marker went with
totally freaky
any other thoughts?
thanks again

Really strange...
If you don't have too much work into your sections and details yet, you can try a "clean merge". Open a new file and merge the existing one into it. This may clear out the troublesome marker.
Since the marker is only appearing in the layout, have you tried creating a new view and replacing the drawing on the layout?

GS people do occasionally look in here but not as a regular matter of support - more just to check in and see what we are talking about.

Just a couple of thoughts from the kind of things that I find happening in my office when called to see such weird happenings ... Different people work in such different ways that it's sometimes hard to predict the cause of a colleague's problem because one never works in that manner oneself. These may seem silly, but it's always good to ask the silly questions, just in case...
- Do you have two versions of the plan side by side in the same model, and your view links to the plan which hasn't been updated, and still shows some kind of marker, maybe a 2D 'marker'? - i.e. fit frame to drawing on the layout, just to make certain you're not looking at the discarded plan to the side.
Is there a marker still in there somewhere but which is in a white pen, yet your placed view in the layout is set to print in black and white?
Is the layout set to "manual update"? (although in this instance if you relinked the plan layout to a different view, that shouldn't be the cause)
Did you check in the drawing manager that it's a view that's placed and not a PDF record of a previous plan version?
