maiking handrails from trussmaker in AC11

I m trying to make handrails as described in the wiki @ http://www.archicadwiki.com/TechNotes/How_to_create_balustrades_using_TrussMaker?highlight=%28trussm...

But in the elevation I keep getting lines displayed at every intersction of the handrail elements as shown in the attached picture. I am trying to get a smooth element. So...

Is this still the way to achieve what I am trying do do?
Is this expected behavior or are my view settings not proper?

I am new to 11 and never used 10 so I apreciate any help.

TrussMaker works on centers so you need to
stretch the balusters away from the top and bottom
rails a small amount so that TrussMaker does not
segment the rails. Also you should stretch the
top and bottom rails slightly away from the
intersection points with the newels.
TrussMaker will make the railing with no joints
meaning the elements will interpenetrate each other.
This may give you the appearance you want
especially if your joints are welded and ground.
If you want to see the intersection miters you
will have to model the elements separately
and use SEO to get the miters to show.
This is one unfortunate thing about TrussMaker.
It does a good job with simple intersections
but does poorly with "T" intersections
at non-right angles.

Thanks for your help Peter, I'll give that a try. It's a shame I can get it to work as in the wiki page I cited. I was excited when I saw that. So I guess I'll rant about how annoying it is when something doesnt work the way I want it to....Oh crud, I forgot, I have a job to do. Thanks again.
