I edited and saved a sketchup model of a stove to put into my archicad project. When I open the sketchup file in archicad it works out. I then saved the model as an archicad object, however every time I place this object into the project it goes back to the original unedited model? can anyone tell me why? and how can I fix this.

It's hard to tell. Perhaps a little more detail would help. A placed library part can't revert to another format so I'm not sure where you're losing the revisions. If you have SketchUp Pro you might also want to try exporting 3DS and the import add-on available from GS.

Well i had an existing stove object in arch file i had to make some changes to it. So I did what i said on my previous post and still kept getting the existing object. So spinning my wheels I went ahead and deleted the saved objects and reopened the sketchup file into archicad and cut and paste the object into my archicad project file and it worked. I dont know why though. I saved it under a different name as the existing object!! So I now I have an object thats not saved under anything. Just an object floating in my file!! would this affect my file?

If you mean an instance of a part that is no longer loaded, no this will not cause any seignificant problem. It will cause the library loading report to always pop up to tell that the part is missing which can be annoying.

From the way you are describing things I gather you are rather new o the program. It's probably a good idea to get some training, do some tutorials, join a user group or all three if you can. Otherwise just keep reading and asking questions here. It's best when asking to be as clear and step by step as possible. It's often hard to picture what's going on at a distance.

Screen shots are also a really good idea. If you don't have a good screen capture program there are lots available. I've been using SnagIt lately and find it quite good. It's also really useful for client and contractor communications so worth having anyway.

Not sure about your procedure, but I really think this has to do with the embedded library. When you add a single object to your project, a copy of it is "nested" inside the project file, and somehow detached from the original one. If you later modify the EXTERNAL object, this is not read from the current project, that continues using the embedded one.
Go to the Library manager, and delete the local copy of the object, then load it again.
