"locking object" ?

I am working on creating a siteplan (for a development), in which I had a third party company draw a preliminary design for me, I've taken their DWG file and imported it into ArchiCAD, and then taken a scan of their colourized print and overlayed it so I can see what's going on in more detail, to make a long storey short, is there any way to make a figure unselectable, so I'm not constantly wearing clicking on the figure when I'm doing things like draging a selection marquee, etc..

cheers

Make an Object Library part!!
Copy the file into an object's 2D view. Make sure there are no hotspots in the 2d view.
Place back into plan. It will only have hotspots in the corners and the centre and is only selectable by click on a hotspot regardless of the magnetic option. Lock it to be doubly sure.
If you are happy to loose the layers you can do this with the DWG too and no more pesky lines selecting when you drag selecting something else.
Cheers John

Daniel,
Do you use "Magnet selection"?
If you disabled this kind of selection, the figure can only be selected by their hotspots.
aha! Totally overlooked that option... it works perfectly for what I'm trying to do, thanks a load

Didn't even think of that method, I'll have to consider that option in the future
