Detail Tool (Drawing Number & Sheet Number)

Does anyone have a process that gives them an indication in plan view that a detail has been placed into the layout book? I would like to use the automatic numbering, but in my current system using a 2D graphic for the detail bug, I know a detail has found a home because the sheet number is added to the bottom of the bug. I am nervous not seeing that and only seeing the "PmAShNo" feedback from the tool.

Are people using pen colors? Detail Selection Settings? Layers? Trust? Blind faith? Paper list? Icon representation in the Navigator?

What works?

If you mean an indication in ArchiCAD, after you have imported into PlotMaker, then no. The auto numbering is intended to work only in PM updating as you rearrange details to different sheets.
In PM you will also notice that the detail marker will not show the associated sheet number if the detail has not yet been imported/placed in PM.

I think something like this would be a good one for the wish list. something like recognition in both directions (archicad to plotmaker as well as plotmaker to archicad) such that once you have placed a auto reference file in plotmaker the auto text would indicate the sheet number. Perhaps on more reason to have plotmaker and Archicad a little more integrated.

Only method I know of is to have PM open and check the detail or section/elevation symbol there. It is pretty easy to quickly visually scan each sheet for the "PmADrNo".
IMO it works much better than faith or memory.
