Preset Layers

I was wondering if there was any reason not to delete the preset layers and layer combinations in v10. I like to start from scratch setting up a templet so I know exactly what is where to be able to control things the way I want to. I just want to make sure I won't create problems with deleting locked layer etc.

Is there any information on the logic behind the preset layers?

Also why did they change all the shortcuts from 9? I was going to set them back but again if there is a good reason to keep the new ones . . .

Go for it, use the software your way. I think that the presets are there so that there is a workable option out of the box. I always use my own layers and combinations and view sets for that matter.

As for the Keyboard shortcuts I think the reason is called "Graphisoft Logic" which came about after a lot of consultation with their navel.

I suggest to learn the new keyboard commands, it makes it more fun when you have to edit something in 9 I had to do it and I couldn't even go up or down a storey!

At the end of the day they're not going to change the shortcuts back so if you don't get used to them you'll be out of step from here on.

Link says:

In the US version, go to Help > Check for Latest ArchiCAD 10 Library... >

Which will take you here:

http://www.graphisoft.com/support/archicad/downloads/library_updates10/USA.html

It contains a Template File and AC10 Upgrade Profile, worked on by Geoff, Ransom and Karl, and myself to a lesser extent. These files will help you start a template from scratch and ease the transition from 9 to 10.

Nothing like diving right in though, even if it does mean you have to go to View > Navigate > Stories to go up or down a storey initially.
