Printing jpg from Archicad

Is there a good starting point to print a good looking jpg from Archicad using the design jet 500 ps? THe jpg looks likes one thing and the print is another (geryer looking). Do we just have to try out a bunch of settings like vivid color on bright white paper..match screen on plain paper? Or do we need to set our resolution higer when making the jpg from Archicad?

Thanks for any help,
Michele

Color printing is a still black art. Especially if you have to be very fussy about the quality. You will probably have to go the trial and error route. Be sure to document the steps you use to get the output you like so it is easy (relatively, we hope) to reproduce in the future.

One thing to be aware of is that ArchiCAD uses RGB colorspace and the printer uses CMYK. You can check and adjust colors in CMY in ArchiCAD (on the Mac at least - I don't remember the color picker from Windows that well) but not CMYK. ArchiCAD uses black ink for black lines and text but (AFAIK) not for colors.

you can set resolution higer and then print it out from Photoshop.
