Have you checked out the price of C4D?
The basic is half the price of Artlantis and with the Advanced Render plugin it is still less than AtrlantisR.

This is certainly worth looking into. Thanks Cameronm

Rashid wrote:Thanks for catching that, Rashid! Of course, since Artlantis R includes radiosity (its claim to fame), the C4D advanced render module price must be added to compare apples to apples (even if C4D then ends up being a bigger, fresher apple because of even more features).
Minor correction... C4D does render without Advanced render, which adds Radiosity and other features...

So... it is Artlantis R that is half of C4D, not the other way around, at least in the US.

In the US, Artlantis R is $595 for a new license ($375 upgrade from 4.5).
C4D on the other hand is $695 (not half Artlantis - but $100 more) and it does not do the rendering without the Advanced Render module which adds $495 ... for a total of $1,190. So... it is Artlantis R that is half of C4D, not the other way around, at least in the US.

This means its pretty much imposible to demo rendering in C4D without spending money. I would love to try it out to see how much harder it would be to use than Artlantis.
