Allow Users to have both assigned and floating licenses.

It would be great if users can have both an assigned/ named license as well as being able to access floating licenses.

We have assigned all of our users a named license to allow them to work for 7 days offline due to the occasional times when access to licenses is lost. We have a shared machine in our conference room and a pool laptop with Archicad installed where it would be useful to be able to then access a second floating licenses when they log in to their Graphisoft ID to use those machines. At the moment they have to surrender their named license on their own machine then swap it to the shared and pool machines for a short period to have to then bring it back again.

Named or floating, I don't think it will make a difference.

A user can only have one license active for their GSID at any one time.

I am pretty sure that even with a floating licence, if a user tries to log into a second machine, they will be asked to release the licence from the other machine.

At least that has been my experience.

What you need is a dedicated GSID for the conference room machine that can access the floating licences (if you have any) in your company pool.

If all of your licenses are named, then that won't work of course.

You need to have some that are floating so they can be used from anywhere, by anyone(who is not already logged in).

Barry.
