Arbitrary limitations for number of options

Archicad has some arbitrary limitations that are either self-imposed, or imposed by local legislature that simply doesn't cover all the uses users can encounter in their own countries. Software limitations put in place feel very arbitrary and inflexible.

Examples:

Rules for zones

Why only two possible values? What if I need more granular approach because of legislation?

Example of such legislation:

It even depends of the zone category! And the heights in question are not always the same! I screamed inside.

I don't need to translate this for everyone to realize what's going on here, except for the table headers: STAMBENI PROSTOR = RESIDENTIAL, SPREMIŠTA = STORAGE, POSLOVNI PROSTORI = COMMERCIAL (and it differs from strictly commercial buildings to mixed use!)

Proposed solution:

Allow more granular (unlimited) number of heights and coefficients so our projects can be up to code without nasty workarounds.

Additional proposition: Move settings for coefficients into Zone Category dialog, because of this granularity. Now every zone category can have its own set of rules.

Opening line option

(This sub-window (?) doesn't even expand fully, in spite of the unused space below "MEP OPTIONS"!)

Why exactly five? Why not six or four?

Proposed solution:

There should be an "Add..." button underneath the last option, and beside every option there should be a button to remove it.

For zones, it would make convoluted workflows and manual resizing a thing of the past, while reducing possibility for errors.

For opening line option, MVO dialog would simply stretch to accommodate more (or less) options. Here it's a bit tricky because copying a door with option 6 into a file that only has 3 options should automatically expand MVO dialog and variables on the backend to accommodate such change.

Let me just show how, on iOS, a flexible list works:

Figure one: you create a calendar event, and want to add alerts:

Figure two: you added an alert, and an option to add additional alert appears:

Figure three: you are editing an existing alert:

UI works so that if you define an alert, an empty alert slot appears. If you define a new alert in that slot, a new empty alert slot appears. If you select none on one of the defined slots, it removes it, leaving only one empty alert slot. That means that you can have as many alerts as you want, and always contracts the list if you select "None" on an alert that was previously set to something, leaving only one "None" in the process, as the last alert. It gives flexibility to have as many alerts as you want, or to delete all of them.

I have pointed to two very concrete examples, but there certainly are more places within Archicad where such limitations exist. This wish could have been separated into two different ones, but the point of this one is that every possible place where the users could need more than a predefined number of options, the software should not be limiting them.
