Dear Graphisoft Team,
I am architect and representative of MATEO ARHITECT DESIGN S.R.L., an active Archicad 28 user. I would like to propose a feature improvement regarding the handling of associative dimension lines.
In complex projects, inserting new elements (e.g., doors or windows) into already-dimensioned walls currently requires manually updating the dimension lines using the “Add to Dimension Line” tool. While effective, this process involves extra effort and can lead to missing critical dimensions, especially in later project stages.
Suggested feature: Introduce an option such as:
“Auto-update dimension chain when a new element intersects the dimension path”
This could be implemented as a user-controlled setting (manual confirmation or preference-based), allowing newly inserted elements to be automatically included in existing associative dimensions.
Benefits:
Reduced human error in large projects
Time savings
Improved graphic consistency and BIM documentation control
Thank you in advance for considering this suggestion. I would be happy to be contacted directly if this request is considered relevant.
