I suggest adding functionality to the BIMcloud Manager interface to automate the archiving of BIMcloud Projects hosted on BIMcloud SaaS, including all underlying folders, files, and Teamwork projects. The current Download file(s) function is very useful for individual files, such as .dwg, .ifc, and .mod files. However, opening each Teamwork project and saving archive files can be very time-consuming for larger projects.
I noticed that the Teamwork Multiproject Migration Tool is included in the Product Roadmap, and automated archiving would be a natural next step in the same direction.
For example, in BIMcloud Manager, a user with the appropriate access rights could select a BIMcloud Project and then click Archive. A dialog box would guide the user through the process. It could include the following options:
Preparation
- Force connected users to leave the project
Select which files and folders to include in the archiving process
- All file types
- Selected file types
- Folders containing files
- All folders, including empty folders
- Libraries
Select one or more archive file formats for Teamwork projects
Specify where to save the archive files
Select a folder in the file system
Once these settings have been configured, the automated process would begin, saving a considerable amount of time.
