Existing window in the model should inherit certain properties when updated or modified

An existing window in the model should inherit certain properties when updated or modified such has casing option, colors, size.
For example you have a model with certain kind of windows but you want to change for another type you select them, pick another type and you have to re-edit everything : color of frame, of casing, dimension, size of windows, color of line .... This could just be taken as DEFAULT from EXISTING object. NOT object from library.
So fare this is the biggest waste of time when projecting with archicad.

It seems you are not aware of the transfer of settings with the pipette (pickup) & syringe (inject) tools?

You can transfer between existing objects or you can transfer the settings to a new object before you select it in the object settings.

No I know that pretty well but it doesn't work in that case.
For exemple I want to change window type from triple windows to Windows 27.
I will have to Edit again color, casing, dimension ...

after changing it result with standard dimension, standard color casing ...

If it could keep customization it would end up like that :

That took me a minute but when you multiply that ...

You can customise the element transfer settings so you can create a transfer setting that does not include the size for example.

Then before you choose the Window 27 object, you inject those parameters into it and the size will not change, but the window type will and the materials will as well if they are not blocked in the transfer settings.

Hy Barry, thanks I didn't know that it was possible to customize the pipette tool.
But it doesn't work as I want in that case. Maybe you have another idea ?
It is possible to implement some information like the following :

So for me at best I can get the size and position but not the casing, not the color...
Here it's the result:

It could be a work around if there would be possibility to copy casing and color. And even still I would like that as DEFAULT option : inherit as maximum the editing of previous windows when choosing a new type of windows.

My transfer settings are set to ALL except ID and Home Storey.

Materials and casings are transfering for me.

Ok then maybe It's a misunderstanding then.
What I wish is to go from your second window (triple window edited) to your fourth window (simple window with same casing and color and frame dimension). I want to transfer everything expect the window type. Therefore color, casing and other customization I spend time to set are being transfer but not the window type.
I'm on archicad 27.

That is exactly what I did.

Turn on 'All Other Settings' in your transfer settings so that all of the window parameters (material, casings, etc.) get transferred too.
