It is 2026. Adjusting the transparency of a fill should not require a workaround, a separate Graphic Override workflow, a custom percentage fill, or a different pen strategy.
This should be a native property directly available in Fill Settings.
Users should simply be able to select a fill and set:
Opacity: 0–100%
That is all.
At the moment, Archicad allows a transparent background, but it does not provide true opacity control for the fill itself. As a result, something that should be an immediate graphical adjustment becomes an unnecessarily complicated workflow.
This affects everyday architectural documentation: sections, elevations, site drawings, diagrams, demolition drawings, existing/proposed overlays, soil fills, zoning graphics and presentation drawings.
Graphic Overrides could additionally support opacity, but they should not be required just to make a fill semi-transparent.
A basic graphical property should remain a basic graphical property.
Suggested implementation: add an Opacity % field directly in Fill Settings, accessible from the Info Box as well, with optional support in Graphic Overrides.
