Place on layout EXACTLY as MARQUEED

I constantly have to resize and reshape and search what I want to add on layouts because the tools just throw there anything in view instead of specific part of plan that I want on the layout.

Please allow actually take advantage of the Marquee tool and let us add on layout exactly what we choose in marque tool.

Hi cocoloco,

I'm not sure if this will work for you or not, but I have found a work around for this that may help in the meantime/if this feature is not implemented.

If you are finding that a view is not showing what you want when dragged onto a layout, try:

1. Deleting the view from the layout (assuming it was placed and this is what alerted you to the issue)

2. Navigate to the desired view in the view-map

3. Ensure the window on screen is showing more or less what you want to see when the view is placed on the layout sheet

4. Right click on the view and select the "Redefine with current Window Settings" option

5. Return to the Layout sheet and drag the view across

6. Rinse and repeat for any other views

Note: Sometimes dragging more than one view on to a layout will cause the window to not display the correct area even when the view has been properly redefined.

I have noticed that this kind of problem is more common with section/elevation/detail views that have had their associated markers moved after they have initially been created, but it doesn't always cause the problem.

This has made adding internal elevations and details to layouts far less tedious in my workflow. Hope this helps you or someone else 🙂
