Sea Level available for Properties / Autotext

Problem: If we want to display the project's Sea Level (it's value, not an elevation to an element relative to SL), we have to type it manually, or use a workaround. In other words, the project's Sea Level value is only available to dimensions.

Scenario / Use Case: We want to display the project's Sea Level in our Site Plan Legend, as a way to communicate the relationship of our Civil engineer's FFE elevation (given relative to Sea Level) to our Architectural FFE elevation, which we always designate First Floor FFE as 100'-0". See attachment, which shows our current workaround. I have placed an elevation dimension, relative to Sea Level, and just moved the dimension text to roughly where I want it in the legend.

Wish: That Location Settings be available to call in Properties / Autotext.

Hi Brandon,

Stumbled accross this while looking for a solution, then I found a solution:

You can place an elevation dimension marker on independant worksheets that will default to project zero, set this dimension to read off sea level using the string <ToptoAltValue> in the custom text field, or expand to "F.F.E. = <ToptoAltValue> ".

Change the marker style to no marker, just text, and there you have a dynamic text that is reading the Altitude value, in a worksheet where you can build your legends and title blocks that reference onto layout masters. You only have to do it once, and every project thereafter will read whatever value you put in the Altitude field.

Cheers from 185,3m above Sea level.

Mike
