I would like to have a dedicated tool for displaying the local slope of a Mesh.
It could be implemented as a label, an object (arrow), or even as a dimension tool, similar to the existing elevation dimension.
It would be nice if it was a "click anywhere on a mesh surface" kind of tool to place the annotation.
Also, the user should be able to choose whether the slope is displayed in percentage or degrees (either in tool settings or globally in the project properties). The annotation should remain associative with the mesh and updates automatically whenever the terrain is modified.
Optional settings could include an arrow indicating the direction of the steepest slope, customizable text appearance or support for layouts and documentation.
This feature would greatly improve workflows related to: site grading, roads and driveways, accessibility design, drainage planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering coordination.
Currently, determining the slope at a specific location requires manual measurements or external calculations. An associative annotation that reports the local terrain slope would save time, reduce errors, and significantly improve documentation quality and the speed of analysys.
