ArchiCad 15 dwg into SketchUp?

I hope this topic is not too far out of place in here. tips and ricks was closed.

I am trying to get a vector/line based (like a dwg) import out of AC and into sketchup.

without downloading and paying for a full pro version, or working in the 8 hour time frame, does anyone have a work around for exporting a dwg (or something) and getting it into sketchup? a pdf comes in as an image, and havent seen a place to export a 3ds file.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try to find an older free version of Sketchup ( version 7 or earlier, as those versions had a native dwg support )

Are you sure?

I thought none of the free versions ever supported any formats aside from skp and kmz. I've been using the pro version since 5 or 6 so I might have missed something.

Hi Matthew,

That's how it worked.

There was a native dwg support till the 7 th free version of sketchup ( file /import ). In the 7.1th version, this was still possible but through a separate plugin.

From the 8th version of Sketchup, the dwg support in its free version has stopped.

There are however, as an alternative, some ruby scripts for the free version that can import and export the dxf fromat.
