Archicad 24 - Export to DWG error

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hello,

After re-installing a Win10 and Archicad 24, I got a problem with exporting to DWG with "Publisher" and "Save as" function.
When try to export with "Save as" I get a message "Cannot write output file". When I am using the "Publisher" I get an "X" mark for not completed operation.
I checked "Available translator" paths in "DXG-DWG Translator" and everything is OK, even created a new one and it's still not working.
If I convert to 23 version, I can export. I tried to open and export on other computer, but still don't work.

Greetings.

Hi
I’ve been extremely busy this spring, so I apologize for this late update, but I’m happy to report that this issue was resolved with AC24 update 5004 SWE.
Archicad 24 no longer refuses to write the DWG file as requested. No changes on my part.

Minh, thanks for your reply. I have no issues with missing xrefs. Now this is a very speedy thing and hard to track, but it seems that AC24 exports the Xrefs to a folder just before the Cannot write output file error dialog appears.
And since the only thing I did to make it work was to save the same file back to AC23, if there were any missing xrefs, they should have been missing there too. AFAIK i used the same export/translator settings.
Now. i'm aware that this single-user .pln file is very old and complex (I'm working on a project that was originally started in 1994 – I think that was AC 4.1 or the like– which means that there is content in the file that is around 26 years old - maybe that's some kind of record?).
But since the export (Save As DWG) worked in AC23, I can't see what excuse AC24 has for not exporting. I've even tried to turn off layers until the plan view is practically empty, to no avail.
I will submit the file to you if you email or private message me an address.

Dear Atanas,

Thank you very much for the question and I am very sorry about the issue!

May I ask, in the given plan file, is there any missing Xrefs? This can be checked by going to File > External Content > Xref Manager. If yes, please make sure to relink the Xref, or detach them from the plan before publishing/saving as DWG.

Please let me know if it is the problem!

Best regards,
Minh

Hello and thank you for the answer.
I checked the XRef and reloaded the DWG. After the reloading I can export through Layout book and layouts, but not views and from Project Map.

Dear Atanas,

Thank you very much for the information!

Would it be possible for you to share the PLN file and the DWG translator for a closer look?
Please let me know if you need a secure place to upload the file!
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Best regards,
Minh

I have the exact same issue. Trying for two days to get around it. Finally I read this thread and exported the project back to AC23, and voila! I got the DWG export to work. Settings identical, file setup and folders too.
I would very much like to know what the problem is in Ac24. I have AC24SWE latest mac version running on a 2019 MacBookPro with 64GB ram.

Hi Thomas,

Thank you very much for your report and I am very sorry about the issue!

I'm wondering if you have checked my suggestion above to see if there is any "missing" Xref attached in the file? Detaching those missing Xref should solve the problem in Archicad 24.

If it does not exist, I would like to have a look at the problematic PLN file for a deeper investigation. Please let me know if you need a secure place to upload the file!

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Best regards,
Minh
