That might be an advanced gdl programmers option, but to keep it simple,
just put it in the ID as you suggest.
Kinda like what you might do with putting an E or P in the ID for separating out the windows that are Existing or Proposed.

In the Interior Elevation Markers at least one of them has an option to label views by orientation. The orientation is set in
Options>Project Preferences> Levels & Project North
Where you set project north.
