AutoCAD 2006 .dwg file issues on Macintosh

Anonymous
Not applicable
I do my AC11 work on a Macintosh. i have tried unsuccessfully to open .dwg files (2006 ver) on my Mac.

I was able to open the .dwg files (2006) in AC11 on a PC and then save them to a .pln and then open that file on the Mac. I spent a day and a half working to try to open the .dwg's on the Mac > never would.

Any ideas on what might be going on? I did make sure that when the AC11 on the Mac was looking for some .shx files, that it was directed to them; still no openy.

I'm not aware of any differences between the platforms in this respect. it could be a font issue, but before you start importing Windows TT fonts, try to Merge or Xref the DWG instead of Open. These methods work differently, so it might work. You could also try to just drag-and-drop the DWG into an empty floor plan window, or open it as an object.

If you can't make it work, report it as a bug through your reseller.
