DWG Translator Setup

I am working on setting up a translator for the firm I work for, and was hoping that I could specificy a relative path for the Template File. In the XML file the template is shown as "lan.flat:///" and then an absolute path to the file. Can I change lan.flat to something else for ArchiCAD to recognize a realative one?

Im not sure about this Michael but you can do a custom install of ArchiCAD and setup with your own templates including work environment, pln template AND translator. By doing this you can delete the ArchiCAD special translator aswell.

Only problem i found with doing it this way was if you needed to change the translator after you have done the custom reinstall.

If you put your custom template in the same folder as the out-of the box one it will be available from the drop down menu when you open AC.

I wouldn't get rid of the AC template as it allows you to do a new and reset. This is necessary when you work with IFC files and open an IFC file without first opening the AC template you get incomplete file(s).
