DWG export Hatch Problem in Auto Cad Black Display

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hello Everyone,
I am facing a problem regarding dwg export.
I have exported my Interior elevation and detail in dwg format. When I see the drawing in Auto Cad 2007 at the white display, all lines look very clear both in plan and elevations. {See Fig. 1)
But Problems arise when I see the drawing in the Black display. Wall a Concrete Hatch blend with the background in interior elevation. ( Detail Plan remains readable in Both Black and White View).

I need to export such a way thus plan and elevation will remain readable both in Black and White display.
Please let me know if you have any idea or suggestion on this issue. I am using Archicad 23 at Windows 10

Hi,

I am sorry for the late reply. I had some time off during the weekend, therefore I did not have access to my work computer!

I have checked the PLN, but unfortunately the translator is not uploaded to link you sent me. If you click on it, under the "Location" section, the path to the translation in XML is visible. Could you go to that directory and upload the XML file as well?

What I suspect was that, if you set the "Pen and Colors" to be "the best matching Standard AutoCAD color", the fills should be exported correctly to DWG. I attached here a screenshot showing this option. Could you modify your DWG translation accordingly and let me know the result after modification?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Best regards,
Minh

Hi Avi,

Thank you for the question and I am sorry about the issue!

Unfortunately, AutoCAD 2007 is quite old as of now, therefore I cannot get a copy of it. What I would like to check is the fills missing in the black display. I'm wondering if you can open the file with a newer version of AutoCAD? If not, could you share the DWG with me for further investigation? Let me know if you'll need a secure link to send the file!

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Best regards,
Minh

Avi,

this is an AutoCAD issue not an Archicad issue, in Autocd you need to select all the hatches as you have them exported as blocks and explode the blocks from there you can edit the properties of all of the hatches.

Just as an aside, why are you exporting to AutoCAD? If it is for a consultant or trade etc for coordination / shop drawing etc why are you worrying about how it displays on their end they should be thankful that you have provided them a base from which to work.

Dear sboydturner,
Thanks for ur observation. But I don't want to go back to AutoCAD to fix those issues. The bigger project involves Consultants from more than 1 firm. So I want to make sure other consultants will not get any trouble. Thanks again

Hi Avi,

Thank you for the DWG! Opening it in AutoCAD 2021, the problem is the same for me. The fills showing black in black environment was exported as Block, and inside the block, the hatch is set with "true black" color (0,0,0) instead of "By Block" or "By Layer".

I believe there was a problem in the file/translator, as some fills exported as block still have the correct color. Could you share with me the PLN that you used to export the DWG, along with the translator used for export? Again, let me know if you need a secure place to upload the file!

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Best regards,
Minh

Dear mnguyen,
Thanks for taking the time to check the file. I also felt like the Translator needs some modification to avoid this problem.
It would be really helpful if I can share the file in a secure place.

I used "SB-Translator for further editing" to translate this file. (See Fig -1)
