IMPORTING OTHER AC FILES INTO MY LAYOUTS

Where my project is in more than one file, Everytime i import another AC file onto my current layout, it comes at scale 1:500 regardless of the scale of the original file.
where am i missing in my settings?

What you are probably doing is placing a Drawing onto the Layout. The source of that Drawing is a View in the other Project File. That View is saved with the scale of 1:500. Go to the other Project file, find the View and modify its scale setting. Then it will come in at that scale.
